Poetry and Taylor Swift

For over 30 years the 3rd graders at SSJ have been reciting poems and performing the Maypole dance at the annual Poem Party.  I wanted to include some video I took but I have not been able to figure it out so here are the only two pics I have.  She recited "Curly Hair", "Hiccup Cure" and "Hammock"  all by Shel Silverstein.  She did a great job and looked so confident and beautiful up on stage.

A week or so later we had our much awaited outing to the Taylor Swift Concert.  This was a Christmas present and we coordinated it with friends so it was an extra-fun night.

Great Concert, great music, great friends!

The Graduate

It is so hard for me to believe this day is here - Diego is graduating from SSJ.  I thought I was going to be  emotional at the ceremony but I held it together and I actually feel excited for him as he enters this new phase of his life.  I know I am crazy, after all it is high school - yikes!

We are all so proud of you D!

You could not wait to get your dress shoes off and put your dancin' shoes on!

May Happenings

Another First Communion?  No, just Ava dressing up the kids going wild with it.  We had a small wedding in the living room.

I think Paolo is showing off his ring?

Speaking of dressing up, here is Ava with her friend Molly.  These two are one week apart to the day and cut from the same mold.  They are both very into fashion and "layering" as Molly's Mom calls it.

In preparation for my Dad's retirement party this happened - Yeah!!!

The almost finished product.

Mrs. P. did it again.  Another awesome SSJ spring musical - Annie.

Our very own orphans.  One out of costume...

....and one in costume :)

We could not convince Jules to play softball for her school team but she did the Spring League again and her team won the whole thing - way to go girls!!!  Such a great experience for her and she always amazes everyone with her abilities.
